How My Personal Chef can help you

My Personal Chef is a personal chef catering service which provides healthy, well-balanced home cooked meals, made with the freshest ingredients from scratch by a professionally trained chef. You just select the meals you’d like, and then sit back and enjoy the results! My Personal Chef does everything else, from planning the grocery list to doing all the shopping and cooking as well as the clean up. The meals will be left in your refrigerator in containers that can be used either in the regular or microwave oven, for your reheating convenience.

Dishes that you want

Before getting started, you let the chef know of any dietary restrictions and preferences you may have, so that your individual needs and wants can be accommodated. Then you get to make your selections from an extensive and continually revised menu. Most items on the menu are designed to be healthy, low-fat entrees. Every meal includes the main entree item, as well as one vegetable, starch or combination side dish to make a complete meal. In addition, the chef will happily take special requests for favorite dishes, or even prepare dinner from one of your own family recipes.

Getting hungry yet?

Here is a sampling of healthy menu ideas:
  • Pot roasted beef in a special sauce with carrots and mashed potatoes
  • Beef carbonnade braised in beer and bacon served over noodles with broccoli in a parmesan sauce
  • Moroccan seven vegetable stew with lamb (can be made vegetarian) over couscous
  • Sauteed chicken with a sundried tomato, basil and mushroom sauce over fettucini
  • Thai chicken and vegetable stir fry over jasmine rice (can be made with tofu)
  • Pan-seared pork chops & homemade applesauce with rosemary roasted potatoes
  • Poached salmon with a mandarin orange and green peppercorn glaze on a bed of vegetables with rice
  • Crispy breaded fish fillets with homemade tartar sauce and orzo with spinach and feta
  • The food is so good, it’s guaranteed!

If, for whatever reason, you are not completely satisfied with any of the dishes, My Personal Chef will gladly provide a similar replacement item at no charge along with your next order.

    The bottom line

Prices are $80 per dinner selection (plus tax) which serves four. This includes the main entree item, as well as one vegetable, starch, or side salad to make a complete meal. Also included are disposable/reusable containers which are yours to keep. For most dishes, any extra portions may be frozen for enjoyment at a later date. Desserts, garden salads and extra side dishes may be ordered for $30 per selection.

Give the gift of a home-cooked meal

My Personal Chef service makes a great gift for special occasions, new homeowners, those welcoming a new addition into the family, or for the person who has everything. It also makes a thoughtful gift for someone just out of the hospital or recuperating from an illness. Businesses can even give our services as a thank you to valued clients and staff. Think about giving the gift that someone can really appreciate!

    Your own personal chef anytime

My Personal Chef can also assist you with catering private parties, luncheons and dinners in your own home as well, with as much or as little help as you need! Just call for more details.

    About the chef

Jacqueline Nathan discovered a love of cooking while attending her first cooking school at the age of eight, and has been cooking and entertaining ever since. She received her culinary arts degree from Scottsdale Culinary Institute in 1996, working her way through cooking school as a private chef. Immediately after classes she spent six months in New Mexico working as sous, then head chef at an exclusive lodge. Upon her return to the Washington DC area, she gained further experience working in several DC area restaurants before settling into her personal chef business. She currently moonlights at an off-premise catering firm in between her personal chef jobs, and truly values the opportunities to help and be of service to people through her own business.
